Holland Hall Country House Hotel is a stunning grade 2 17th century listed building.

The hotel is privately owned and has recently undergone a massive 750,000 GBP redevelopment. Bedrooms, restaurant, function rooms and lounges have been completely refurbished. It is well located in west Lancashire, within minutes of the M6 at Junction 26, close to Wigan and Skelmersdale.

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and surrounded by woodland, enjoy excellent views of the adjacent Dean Wood golf course and forest.

Food & beverage

Aspects is a Pizzeria and Grill Restaurant, serving international cuisine.

Aspects was born out of the two rosette Churchills restaurant and the Pizzeria of the Year Winstons. This new restaurant merged the best of both and then with a continental twist we put in an early evening fixed price menu and a fixed price a la carte style menu with speciality dishes.

We pride ourselves on using local fresh and seasonal food, with our beef coming from the butchers own herd, and hung for at least 28 days, much longer than Jamie Oliver's Finest Range, giving a lovely chocolate marbling colour which grills to perfection.

Breakfast is available from 7am to 9am Monday to Friday and 8am - 10am Saturday and Sundays.

Room information

Thirty bedrooms including Superior Rooms, Hall Rooms and Suites are individually decorated and provide all the facilities that you would expect to find in a modern country house hotel.

Area information

Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the Hotel is located in between Wigan and Skelmersdale in Lancashire, less than 10 minutes from junction 26 off the M6. It is surrounded by woodland and enjoys excellent views of the adjacent Dean Wood Golf course and forest.

The food was beautiful

I found the waitress in the evening restaurant very rude and impatient and did not listen to me and my party.

staff were very attentive

electrics were being updated which meant there were people walking up and down most of the day

Room was lovely and clean and nice views

The breakfast was very poor, and there was extra charge for full english. The staff were not very friendly. Bathroom was small and shower not very hot. Had to query the charge for the room.

The room and people.

The evening menu is not flexible and you have to pay for 2 courses even if you only have 1!

The bed was comfortable

The TV did not work, the bathroom slanted away from you and was difficult to use the tub, no screens on the windows ( because there is no air conditioning, the windows are the only choice for ventilation).
