Youth hostel and guest house in the Romanian Black Sea Region. A welcoming house in a small town, 15 minutes drive from of the beaches of Eforie Nord.

The house is run by the German Lutheran Church of Bucharest and was recently renovated (2004). The hostel gives youth-groups and young families the possibility of low-price stays at the Romanian Black Sea.

The town of Techirghiol is a small resort with a famous salty lake and only 30 minute drive from the main railway station of Constanta.

Hotel information

1, 2, 3 and 4 bed rooms located across 2 floors. There are 4 shared toilets and 2 showers per floor. The hostel provides a simple design and its facilities include a TV Room, a big outdoor area for camping and sports, large terraces and a BBQ Place.

Excellent home made food is on offer and the hostel provides a well deserved evening retreat from the noisy and modern beach resorts.

The house is well-suited for groups of between 15 and 30 people.

The hostel suggests you travel by car as this will allow you to explore the surrounding area. Arriving by train or public bus is also possible but you should be prepared for about 20 minutes walk.

Food & beverage

Breakfast is served from 07:30 until 10:30.
Lunch is served from 13:00 until 15:00.
Dinner is served from 19:00 until 21:30.

Area information

Techirghiol is an ancient settlement with Greek and Turkish roots. It is famous for its salty lake ("Ghiol" in Turkish). The mud from the lake is often used in treatment of rheumatic and dermatological ailments.

The location within Techirghiol offers a good retreat from the busy Black Sea resorts. The generous outdoor facilities (BBQ place, Fireplace, camping, soccer etc) provide a number of activities and spaces to relax. Enjoy the day on the beach and then recharge in the evening breeze on the terraces of the hostel.

Quiet place, clean, nice staff. surely we will visit the hostel again.

Poor breakfast(but good coffee), we were asked to pay 20€ even if we reserved the room with 18€.

gepflegtes Haus mit schönem Garten

habe schlechteres Zimmer als das gebuchte erhalten, aber den teureren Preis bezahlt! Frühstück sehr bescheiden, bereits auf Teller angerichtet (2 Scheiben Wurst, eine Scheibe Käse, ein Stück Butter und ein kleines Stück Gemüse) - Verständigungsschwierigkeiten da Personal kaum Deutsch spricht und kein Wort Englisch

Pidin Lutheran Hostel siisteydestä, viehättävät kukkaistutukset. Sijainti tosin on syrjäinen ja muut palvelut kylässä aika minimalistiset. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä. Aivan erinomainen aamiainen, tuotteet kaikki tuoreita, valkealla liinalla tuoreet kukat! Tosi kiva, kiitos siitä!

Huoneisiin voisi hankkia pikkulampun, nyt vain yksi kattolamppu, jonka valossa tuskin näkee lukea.
