The Hotel Barocco overlooks Rome’s Piazza Barberini, the fine square dominated by Bernini’s wonderful baroque fountain of the sea-god Triton. This intimate and charming hotel is named after the architectural style that inspired some of the most breathtaking squares and monuments in the Eternal City. The fountain is a stone’s throw from the hotel, so close in fact that from some of the rooms guests can see the tiny bees - a symbol of the Barberini family - sculpted on the dolphins.

The entrance to the hotel is in Via della Purificazione, a quiet street off the square, and leads into an elegant foyer. The sofas in the reception area are covered in beige and orange-striped damask. There are oriental rugs on the floor and trompe l’oeil scenes of classical Rome on the walls. The air is even softly fragranced, in keeping with the philosophy of the Five Senses Hotels chain. This idea was first conceived three years ago by Franco Caruso – the hotel’s manager since 1991.

Delicious breakfasts to prepare you for the day ahead
The breakfast room is located beside the hotel foyer. Its cherry-wood furnishings and trompe l’oeil scenes of the Pincio gardens combine to create a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The décor is rich in intricate floral themes which perfectly complement the white damask tablecloths teamed with white porcelain, shining cutlery and gleaming silverware. A single yellow rose in a crystal vase adorns each table. Soft music plays in the background. The American-style breakfast caters for all tastes: guests can choose from delicious scrambled eggs, cereals and home baked pastries, a wide selection of smoked meats and cheeses, and a host of delicacies from the surrounding Roman countryside. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10.30 am Monday thru Saturday, and until 11.00 am on Sunday, so that guests may have a lie in if they wish.

They can be Twin or Queen Bed. All Classic Rooms have modern facilities and a writing desk. The size is about 16 squared metres.
Standard room
One queen bed or two twin beds. 14-16 square metres. Individually decorated with floral fabrics, antique-style prints and modern furnishings. Marble bathroom.

The location is excellent and can walk everywhere and the staff at the
hotel are very friendly and helpfull !! If going by train from airport
early location just a walk to the hotel..very easy!!! Room was great and
airconditioned which you need in July. Breakfast also was very good and
great coffee!!

Cleanliness of hotel and excellent location.We upgraded to a room with a balcony which had lovely views over the Berberini fountain in the piazza.

our initially booked 'superior' room was carpeted - prefered the marble floors of the upgrade in such a hot climate. Other rooms would be fine for out of season stay.

Great location for visiting sights. We were able to walk to the sights. The entry on a side alley was a bit strange but the hotel had nice common areas. The room was very good sized and except for a small shower, the bathroom was also quite good sized. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Not a luxury hotel but very clean and comfortable. I would stay again. Free newspapers everywhere!

No real lobby space. Just an entry and a small area with a sofa. Since they had other common areas in the hotel, it was okay but I do prefer a large entry lobby.

Ease of access to the metro and general location

Some rooms would not be suitable for people with mobility problems due to the location - not all rooms were on a floor with a lift

location was excellent.Staff(for the most part) was helpful ensuring that we got the specific rooms I had requested.Nice amenities in the room.Good breakfast.

Piazza Barberini is a realtively loud square, and despite thick double-glazing, some traffic noise is noticeable on 1st Floor
