Hotel Meerzigt, formerly Hotel Oostermeer, is situated within the direct surroundings of Lakes Bergumermeer and De Leijen, in the small village of Eastermar (Oostermeer).

The hotel is located at the small harbour just between the 2 lakes of Bergumermeer and De Leyen, both just 1 km from the hotel.

The restaurant is accessible for disabled guests .The bar is open from 11:00 - 23:00. Lunch and dinner for groups (who made a reservation in advance) will be served at requested times between 12 midday - 20:00.
Hotel Meerzigt lies in between the nature reserve called 'De Leyen' and the 'Bergumermeer', where you can surf, sail, canoe or swim. It is possible to take a boat trip with a guide, rent a boat or even a canoe.
The historical cities of Dokkum, Leeuwarden, Grouw and the De Alde Feanen nature reserve near Eernevoude are all situated in this lake district.
Eastermar is also a good place to stay on the way to one of the Frisian Islands of Ameland or Schiermonnikoog.
