A haven of peace and tranquillity, this traditional English country house lies in a unique rural setting, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a 60 acre lake, yet only 12 miles from Chester.
Set within a grand Victorian mansion, the hotel features 28 bedrooms and 8 suites, most of which enjoy spectacular views over the lakes and gardens. All rooms are beautifully appointed and individually designed, many with antique furnishings, Persian rugs and lots of extra touches to give that home-from-home feeling.
The area plays host to a wide variety of activities, from shopping and sightseeing in nearby Chester, to country pursuits such as clay pigeon and laser shooting, archery and golf. For the more adventurous, hot air ballooning and off-road racing are also available nearby.
Restaurant, Bar, 24-Hour Front Desk, Newspapers, Garden, Terrace, Non-Smoking Rooms, Rooms/Facilities for Disabled Guests, Elevator, Safety Deposit Box, Heating, Luggage Storage, All Public and Private spaces non-smoking.
Nunsmere has 3 beautifully equipped private rooms which are ideal for business meetings, conferences and training courses. Private dining, wedding ceremonies and receptions are also available.
A charming feature of Nunsmere Hall Hotel are the beautiful Italian gardens. These have been lovingly restored to create a tranquil haven of colour and scent. During your stay you are invited to stroll around the lawns and terraces at your leisure. The gardens lead down to the lakeside and provide a pleasant walk, perfect for working up an appetite or for enjoying an after-dinner constitutional.
The rhododendron bushes blaze with colour in the summer months and an avenue of silver birch trees is striking in the autumn. The centrepiece of the gardens is a well-stocked pond, over which arches a rustic bridge.
The gardens also add splendour to the views from all superior rooms and provide a pretty backdrop for tea on the terrace.
Nunsmere Hall Hotel has been awarded 4 Red Stars and 2 Rosettes by the AA. Recently it was voted Cheshire Life Hotel of the Year. In the past, it has twice been voted County Restaurant of the Year by the Good Food Guide.
Nunsmere Hall is renowned for its cuisine in the award-winning Crystal Restaurant. It prepares à la carte dining with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients.
You can dine alfresco throughout the summer months on the beautiful terrace.
Children are welcome. However, those under the age of 12 years are not permitted in the restaurant after 19:00.
On request, room service or an early meal in the restaurant can be arranged.
The hotel strongly recommends making advanced dinner reservations in order to avoid disappointment.
After dinner, why not relax in the wood panelled cocktail bar and luxurious lounges which open onto the terrace, which overlook the Italian sunken garden.
