Quietly situated in the historical centre of Harderwijk, this elegant family-run hotel focuses on service and hospitality.

Operating since 1875, the Best Western Hotel Baars offers classic style and tasteful interior decoration to make you feel right at home. With a wide range of rooms and a choice of luxurious facilities, this residence caters to various travellers and offers utmost comfort.

You can enjoy the warm atmosphere of the Café Brasserie taste the delicious food or have a drink. Sit out on the terrace or unwind in the conservatory, while admiring the magnificent view of the characteristic church square.

At approximately 350 metres from the hotel you will find the wonderful sea life park Dolfinarium. The hotel’s excellent location is easily accessible via public transport and the A28 motorway is only a 5-minute drive away.

This hotel has been family owned since 1875, where the fifth generation of the Baars family considers hospitality very important. The 4-star hotel, situated in the traffic-free city centre, meets the highest standards to ensure utmost convenience. The Hotel Baars offers 43 luxurious guest rooms.

There are various large conference rooms available. They can be connected to create one big room for parties or business meetings for up to 200 people. For companies up to 70 people our own hotel accommodation can also be used.

Food & beverage

Restaurant La Perche
Hotel Baars has a refined an attractive restaurant where, by Dutch tradition, delicious fish- and meat dishes are served. In Restaurant La Perche you will feel right at home, while being pampered by our staff.

Café / Bar
The popular café is decorated in the style of Jugendstil and has its terrace located directly on the beautiful square of the 14th century Grote Kerk church. The café is open to all visitors who fancy a drink in the warm atmosphere of this elegant setting.

As from 2009, you will be able to enjoy our heated terrace and sit out, even if the weather is not so warm.

Room information

Hotel Baars has 45 luxurious hotel rooms. There are also VIP rooms, bridal suites with bubble bath or steam cabins.
The elevator will take you to all floors.

Area information

Harderwijk is uniquely situated town in the centre of the Netherlands, between the lakes and the Veluwe-massif. It is surrounded by nature, with forests, meadows and heath, giving the hotel guest the opportunity to choose from a wide range of leisure activities like cycling, hiking, horse riding, playing tennis, renting a boat etc.
It is also possible to relax in a sauna or beauty resort in the surroundings.

Within a radius of 15 kilometres you will find 4 golf courses with a NGF-status (Dutch Golf Federation).

The Dolfinarium (dolphin zoo) is at just 350 metres from the hotel and the nice boulevard is the ideal starting point for making a trip by boat on the lakes.

They show pictures on the internet that give you the idea it is a very modern hotel, but the rooms appeared to be incredebly old-fashioned. As I was traveling with the a client, this was not a nice surprise.
Moreover the rooms were very noisy; I could not sleep until 2 because some other hotel guest were very loud.

Hotel ligt zeer centraal gelegen in het centrum. Prima restaurant en gezellig terras. Op zich een goed hotel, maar naar onze mening zeker geen 4 sterren.

De kamers zijn erg ouderwets, er is weinig aan gebeurd om de kamers een prettige uitstraling te geven. Er was geen minibar op de kamer, je werd verwezen naar de automaat beneden.

Bij de receptie waren ze erg vriendelijk, de kamers waren schoon en de bedden waren perfect. Het ontbijtbuffet was ook heel erg goed er was heel veel keus.Wij gaan hier zeker nog eens terug.

De blikjes fris/wijn en bier uit de automaat waren lauw, bijna warm!

Minibar was niet gevuld en ingeschakeld, terwijl deze wel als faciliteit aangeprezen wordt
