Overlooking the bowling green in the fashionable Cheshire village of Hale, this hotel sits close to a railway station providing easy access to Altrincham, Stockport and central Manchester.

A 5-minute drive from all local motorway networks, the Britannia Ashley Hotel is also just 10 minutes by car from Manchester International Airport, with special long-term parking deals on offer. Altrincham station is also within easy reach, providing the metro-link tram service to Manchester United Football Club and Old Trafford cricket ground. Tatton Park, Dunham Massey and Quarry Bank Mill National Trust properties are within 10 minutes by road. Hale itself retains a good variety of individual shops, fashionable bars and restaurants.

Wi-Fi internet access and meeting facilities are complemented by a bright modern bar. Also on-site is a wine bar style restaurant, with a wide range of dishes and daily specials served amid polished wooden floors and interesting artwork.

very homely and comfortable, also nice and clean and easy access to city.

Parking is not available unless you pay for parking at sommerfield, its cheap but you need to pay and display very early in the morning, not great if your trying to have a lyin. The last time I was there i got a £30 ticket fine. Not something I was happy about.

I got a parking ticket because I didnt get to my car until half past 8. So if you want to park next to the hotel you have to get up at 7.50 everyday or you will get slapped with a ticket which I think is ridiculous. Who wants to get up at 7.50 when they are on holiday???? For this reason I wouldnt use the hotel again

Meals were good, always fresh. Staff were freindly.

The room wasn't clean enough. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and unclean. 2 singles put together with a thick ridge round? Bitten all over from the bed!! The hotel in general was very dated and old fashioned. Not really what was expected in such an upper class area.

Our stay was very pleasureable, the room was bright and airy, we couldn't open the window and when we mentioned it to the reception, they came up imediately and sorted it out and brought a fan up too, it was very reasonably priced and very close to Tatton, where we we visiting the show, no complaits at all.

No it was very good, the breakfast was good and you could eat as much as you liked, we didn't eat in the restaurant at night as we met up with my niece, but it did look very nice and very good value for money.

I had a huge room...that I didn't want nor need, but it was nice.

I asked for a single room, and got a triple...for the same price. If I have to pay that much for a single, I might as well get a triple every time.

We got a very good deal on the room.

Most everything. The bed was like plywood, the front desk staff was unprofessional, the shower only worked one morning we were there (That presents a problem.) It is certainly nothing more than a place to sleep on a business trip.

the parking is really poor. You should try and get a pre paid ticket for all guests which gives them free parking during their stay.

The hotel was shabby and dirty. The night manager was missing and we had to stand outside the hotel at 2am for 40 mins until he turned up looking very scruffy and dishevelled. The glasses in the bathroom were filthy as if someone had been keeping their tooth brushes in them and there was a Pot Noodle in one of the drawers. To add insult to injury we have been debited twice for the room!

Close to our destination

Our booking had been made incorrectly. We had confirmation of our stay and when we arrived there was no record of our booking. We were sent away until our booking could be "put on the system".

Nice and helpful staff, quiet surroundings, parking available near the hotel. The furniture was indeed a bit outdated, but the room was clean and cozy. Also, we were able to get a smoking room, which in the UK seems very hard to find. In a nutshell, good value for the money.

The room was disgusting, furniture very old and battered, beds lumpy, bedding didnt even fit beds!!! Absolutely horrible!!! Shocked!
