The Carlton Square is an intimate 4-star hotel in the heart of the charming city of Haarlem, combining international allure with luxurious ambiance and genuine hospitality. As you walk through the front door of our hotel you are welcomed in the cosy lounge by our friendly reception staff. This gives our guests that special ‘home away from home’ feeling.

Not only is it possible to stay in one of our 124 luxurious rooms, but you can also enjoy lunch, an afternoon tea and a gastronomical dinner. The informal atmosphere and the alternating menu with daily fresh products make restaurant "De la Paix" a popular location.

The hotel also offers excellent facilities and suitable spaces for inspiring meetings. Our conference rooms are equipped with ample daylight, air-conditioning and a vast range of options. By working with flexible system walls, we can adjust the size of the room to your specific wishes.

In our restaurant De la Paix you can enjoy an a la carte menu or a lighter meal and coffee on the terrace. Spoil yourself with delicious dishes which are prepared live by our chef in the open kitchen.

The Whisky Bar is a cosy meeting point where excellent service is combined with the original Scottish atmosphere. There is a collection of hundreds of international types of whiskies - a lot of choice for the real fancier! Or what about an original English pint or a delicious cocktail? This is a great place to relax and unwind. The small menu offers snacks and different kinds of light meals and salads.
When you combine the Whisky Bar with our lobby, this is the ideal location for an aperitif for larger groups.

The hotel has 124 airconditioned rooms and a bridal suite. Rooms available for non-smokers.

Area information

The hotel is located in the historical centre of Haarlem. The Carlton Square is easy to reach from Amsterdam, The Hague and Schiphol Airport. The beach of Zandvoort is reachable within 15 minutes.

Haarlem is awarded the “Best Shopping city of The Netherlands”. There are numerous beautiful boutiques, nice antique shops and famous designer labels. The old centre characterizes itself by the cosy small estates and many monumental curiosities. Take a walk along the beautiful canal buildings. Enjoy!

Exra beds and cots are only possible in the Executive room.

A garage of the municipality located beneath the hotel is available from Monday until Sunday.
From 8 am until 7 pm the costs are 2 euros per hour.
On Thursday this is until 9 pm.

From 7 pm until 8 am the costs are 2,50 in total.
On Thursday the times are from 9 pm until 8 am.

Good location. This hotel is used by flight crews. Kpn Internet worked well 15 euro/day.

The complimentary mini bar was nice. The rooms were well decorated. The larger suites are worth the extra money. Great location. Wonderful city.

Some of the beds need to be replaced, are quite old and wirey. Internet should be free... and the computers in the business area are old and slow.

The Reception staff are very friendly and efficient. The hotel and rooms are clean and the location is ideal for Haarlem.

Food and drink at the breakfast buffet seemed to run out and was not replenished so you had to make do with what was left.

It was far enough away from the center of Haarlem for privacy but close enough to walk to. I liked the breakfast bonus of being included in the hotel rate. Their breakfast is 20 Euros extra and being included made the stay a real value.

They have a business center that they advertise as being equipped with an Internet for guests but both computers had poor access to the Internet because the machines were Microsoft 2000 and never updated. So people were remarking how they were disappointed not being able to write e-mails- me included. I reported this to the desk and the woman attending at night said she has been telling management
