Hotel Amadeus is a city hotel situated in a historical building on the Grote Markt (Market square), which is one of the most beautiful squares in the Netherlands, located right in the heart of Haarlem. Futhermore, the hotel has a lift*. All Dutch safety standards are more than adequately complied with.

* one steep climb to lounge, lift starts from this floor.

The Hotel has a cosy, Old-Dutch-style lounge. The lounge interior breathes an air of warmth and hospitality. This lounge is an ideal place to relax after a day full of activity in and around Haarlem. Hotel Amadeus serves a complete breakfast. You can also make use of the restaurant, which is located in the same building.

Area information

The city of Haarlem is more than 750 years old. It is a very lively town, within a stone's throw of the cities Amsterdam and Zandvoort on Sea -a popular seaside resort. Haarlem is known for its many sites and sights. Including the Frans Hals Museum, Teylers Museum, the Grote Kerk (Great Church -formerly St. Bavo's Cathedral), The Stadhuis (City Hall) and the Vleeshal (Butcher's Hall).

The city's center provides excellent shopping oppurtunities. You will find numerous exclusive shops as well as boutiques and department stores. If you are particularly interested in books an antiques then browse around in one of the many specialty shops. In addition, Haarlem features an attractive night life as well as pavement café's where you can sit and watch the crowd.

The location was ideal

The outside noise was at times unbearable. Do the church bells need to go off every half an hour during the middle of the night?!

Central location & only a short train ride to Cental Amsterdam. Nice dinning room & views over the town square.

For the price the room was quite small & fairly basic. The lift ponged of cat!!

Charming, convenient location. Good price. Good basic accommodations -- not fancy nor luxurious, but good value for money. Very quiet. It was exactly what we were looking for.

The Amadeus has a great position on the main Grotmarkt Square in the centre of Haarlem. Staff are friendly and helpful and rooms are clean and functional. Breakfast is basic but plentiful. This is a basic hotel with room-rates to match making it ideal for a long-weekend stay. Why pay for an expensive hotel and spend most of your time out and about when the Amadaeus is more than adequate to rest your head (comfy beds) at night and fuel up in the morning! Good value for money

Coffe/tea making facilities are avaliable on request?!? We think these should be provided as standard.

Very good hotel for its price. Small and budget, but clean and quite comfortable. We traveled during off-season, so the owner was very friendly and even gave some unexpected reductions. The location is perfect.

The breakfast was very limited but still enough for traveling people.

The hotel was very quiet, and in a great location!

The plumbing in the shower needs to be fixed. The water did not drain immediately during the shower.

En-suite was extremely small! Some noise from surrounding premises late at night
