Situated in the quiet village of Eastwood, a short drive west of Nottingham, these practical, comfortable rooms are complimented by 37 meeting rooms and extensive health and fitness amenities, making this the ideal base for business activities or local exploration. Hotel information

Eastwood Hall is a listed building situated 5 minutes from the M1 (Junction 26) in Eastwood village, the birthplace of writer D.H Lawrence. Eastwood also has a rich coal-mining heritage, and the hall is the former headquarters of British Coal.

Complimentary access to the leisure facilities is available to all guests over the age of 18.

Eastwood Hall specialises in conferences and weddings, with dedicated managers and co-ordinators on hand to assist.

Food & beverage

The Orangery Restaurant offers a varied menu and excellent service. Limited opening Friday, Saturday and Sunday, please call in advance to make your booking.

From Monday to Friday, breakfast is served from 07:00 to 09:00. At weekends and on public holidays it is served from 07:30 to 10:30.

Room information

All rooms have thick, soft mattress toppers and luxurious pillows. Each room comes complete with its own en suite facilities, including a bath and shower. You can also order a morning paper from reception to be delivered directly to your door.

Area information

D.H Lawrence Birthplace Museum (0.8 miles / 1.2 km) - The early home of ‘Bert Lawrence’ (D.H. Lawrence) is now a re-creation of a Victorian Family home. Guides bring this cramped miner's home to life, leading you through the 3 floors, as well as the communal washhouse.

Nottingham Castle & Art Gallery (11 miles / 17.5 km) - Housed amid the rich history of Nottingham Castle, the Museum and Art Gallery has permanent displays of ceramics, glass, metalwork, fine art and the work of regional, contemporary artists.

The Galleries of Justice (12 miles / 19 km) - an historic prison and court site, where visitors can witness a mock Victorian trial and even pretend to trial, sentence and imprison their friends and family. The original prison cells, laundry, medieval caves and authentic prison exercise yard are frequented by wandering performers playing the parts of prisoners and gaolers.

Monday to Friday: 10:00. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays: 12:00. Late check-out (until 15:00) is charged at GBP 20.

The pool, sauna and steam room will be closed for refurbishment from 28 July until 11 August 2008. The gym will be operating during normal opening hours during this period.

My daughter was attending a conference at a hotel near by and I was looking after my 1yr old granddaughter, all the receptionists were very helpful and gave me lost of information where I could take my granddaughter.

Did not like the £10 charge for a travel cot!

Location

Informed on arrival that the Health club facilities were open until 10pm, we arrived at the Health club door at 8.05 to find that it was locked up and the 'same' receptionist that gave us the opening hours 11/2 earlier said that they had different times on a bank holiday, which was totally incorrect as this was not written on their literature anywhere.

the staff where very helpful and polite. The rooms had all the facilities i needed.

was suprised that the bar didnt open until 5.30 as as arrived late afternoon, i was looking forward to having a refreshing beer.

This hotel really shouldn't be billed as a hotel, it is a conference centre, I had to walk over half a mile to my room, via a string of corridors, there wasn't even a glass in the room, you were expected to use the mugs, the sauna was broken, the food very very poor and had had to pay for three courses whether you wanted them or not a £25, I was served flat lager and it was exchanged 4 times
