The variety of rooms available caters to the needs of holiday makers, business travellers and families alike. All offer modern comforts and a tranquil environment – the ideal retreat after a hectic day. The courteous staff is dedicated to making your stay a pleasant one.

Not only are the main attractions, famous museums and shopping streets easily reached from this hotel, Central station and the RAI convention centre are also easily accessed by public transport.

Please note that this is a non-smoking hotel. Free WiFi internet is available in the entire hotel.

Extra beds and baby cots are upon request and need to be confirmed by the hotel.

Supplements will not be calculated automatically in the total costs and have to be paid separately in the hotel.

Hotel information

The hotel has been run by the Aalders family for more than 50 years and is said to be one of the last family-owned hotels left in Amsterdam. Our friendly reception staff will be glad to help you with information about the city, restaurant reservations and organizing transportation to the airport. In our bar there is a computer with internet access, which guests can use for free.

Food & beverage

We have a small but cosy bar on the ground floor where you can enjoy a drink.
Breakfast is served in our breakfast room on the first floor. It is served daily from 7:30 to 10:00.
For dinner and lunch you don't have to walk far. There are many good restaurants in the neighbourhood. Our reception staff will be glad to help you with suggestions.

Each room has something different to the other rooms, but the basic, most important elements remain the same. Hotel Aalders has rooms for every kind of guest, from single travelling business people to families of 4.

Area information

The hotel is located in a green part of the city centre on a quiet street in the beautiful surroundings of the Museum Square. The central station is easy to reach by tram in some 15 minutes. Most of the major tourist attractions, such as the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, the Vondelpark, Leidsesquare, famous Amsterdam canals, Albert Cuyp market and Concertgebouw, are all within walking distance.

The location of the hotel was excellent for us because it was on a quiet residential street only a couple of blocks from the main museums. We also enjoyed the nice buffet breakfast every morning. The hotel was well kept and our hotel room was clean with bed service and new towels provided every morning.

The size of the triple room, the confort of the double bed, the presence of the elevator, the position of the hotel, the helpful staff

The furniture of the room a little bit dark and old fashioned. The aspirator of the bath room seems not working at all

Pleasant place to stay, cosy atmosphere.

Two improvements required: firstly it would be nice for the hotel to provide shampoo, soap ,etc in the bathroom; secondly a safe per room would be useful rather than the one at the fron desk.

It is a quite location, central and easy access to transportation (tram no 12) to Amstel train station were euroline's terminus is. Polite staff, Good breakfast and good room service. They seem to be willing to go out of their way to help. From the moment I arrived at the station at Amstel to when I arrived to the hote , they guided me all the way through.

The only thing I did not like about the hotel was that the service, the staff and the facilities were just too good to be rated a 3star hotel.

Fantastic location near everything in pretty residential street & felt very safe. Traditional Dutch house - also had a lift - saved carrying heavy luggage up narrow staircases. Modern bathroom & great shower. Very comfortable beds. Beautiful breakfast room/excellent breakfast-good times to suit all & they did not rush you out at 10am. Rijksmuseum/Van Gogh/Canal cruise/trams all at end of road.

The location was excellent with public transportation and museums nearby.Good variety at breakfast, free internet access and helpful staff were all appreciated. Felt very safe in the neighborhood as a solo female traveler. Highly recommended hotel
