The location and the staff. The two guys working there were really nice and the coffee was great.

great location near the Dam; the room was quiet.

the room was really small - only a bed, a chair and a sink. i was with a huge suitcase so the door barely closed! stairs were really steep and the staff offered no help, only "take your time" when they saw me with all the luggage! breakfast was limited. the shared toilet was not really good either. price... this was the cheapest hotel i found on the internet, but i think it was greatly overpriced!

This hotel is a prime location for teens and adults who want to visit the many coffee shops. There were plenty of places just a couple of blocks away.

Its cheap in a central location. Most staff are friendly.

Sheets werent changed in whole stay. Noise from main road. Noise from other guests. Window didnt shut properly. Curatains were cheap. Towels had holes in them as well as the pillow.

some people have mentioned the steep stairs but this is Amsterdam - That's how lots of buildings are!

Single rooms are just that - only big enough to fit one small person in. The smallest room i have ever stayed in and my friends was even smaller. That could have been forgiven if they changed the carpets (about 10 years overdue) and made a bit more effort with breakfast. The comments about dubious looking staff are totally unfair as the manager and reception were more than friendly and helpful

Great location. This is the 2nd time I've stayed here. Last time I had some unflattering things to say about the state of the carpets but they appear to be taking steps to rectify this. This hotel is great for a brief stay but the size of the rooms and lack of facilities would make a longer stay unpleasant. The toilet and bathroom facilities are shared but they were clean.

The mattress in my room smelt of body odour. There are loads of steep stairs so bring a backpack not a suitcase. Bring earplugs as the street outside is busy up until 3-4am with traffic. The weather was warm and so was the hotel so I had to sleep with the windows open.

it is a short distance from the main square.

it isnt the nicest place i have stayed but it was ok 4 the price. also there are 37 steps to get into the hotel!!!
