Food & beverage

The hotel has 2 restaurants, one bar and a hotel lounge. The hotel's pleasant terrace, situated right on the Amstel river with a magnificent view of the Munt Tower, is open when the weather permits. Executive Chef and Maître Cuisinier de France (Master Chef of French Cuisine) Jean-Jacques Menanteau and Maître d' Erik Smit are happy to welcome you to the restaurants.

Room information

All the elegant rooms have been tastefully decorated, varying from luxurious single and double rooms to a romantic bridal suite, junior suites and suites complete with a sitting room and separate bedroom. There is also a 2-level penthouse suite that offers a magnificent view of the Amstel river. The majority of the rooms have connecting doors and can be converted into a 2-room unit; ideal for families with small children or large parties.
Please note, if desirable, you are allowed to smoke on the balcony of your room.

Area information

Amsterdam is a wonderful city to visit, especially when you’re staying at Hotel de l’Europe – a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city. Inside the hotel, the atmosphere is refined and serene, outside there’s a pleasant buzz of activity. You can hear the sound of carillons and street organs in the distance. The flower market and the canals beckon you.

Take a leisurely walk to get acquainted with the city, or perhaps you would prefer a cruise along the canals. The Music Theatre, the Rijksmuseum, the Munt Tower and the financial centre are all close by. As are the Bijenkorf, the Bonneterie and numerous other famous department stores, galleries, antique shops and all sorts of lively entertainment. When you are staying at the Hotel de l’Europe, you’re right in the heart of Amsterdam.

The position is quite good. The bed is very comfortable.

The hotel is far from being a five stars level. Small rooms, old furniture, noisy, no complimentary services, poor level of service staff. The price paid is too high for what you get.
